Innovation Vouchers build links between Ireland's public knowledge providers (universities and institutes of technology) and small businesses. Each standard voucher is worth €10,000 and can be used to explore a business opportunity or technical challenge with a registered knowledge provider. Co-funded vouchers cover projects up to €20,000 on a 50/50 basis. A company may hold up to four vouchers in total (three standard, one co-funded). After 5 years, companies can reapply for additional vouchers. Applications are open year-round through the Enterprise Ireland Online Application System. A voucher has a lifespan of 12 months from issue date. NOTE: Vouchers are exclusive of VAT — companies pay VAT (23%) separately to the knowledge provider (this is reclaimable by VAT-registered companies).
SMEs registered with the CRO in Ireland — limited companies with fewer than 250 employees and annual turnover under €50m or balance sheet under €43m. Does not need to be an existing Enterprise Ireland client.
