Free home energy upgrades — insulation, heat pumps, ventilation — for homeowners on qualifying social welfare payments.

📋
Full Details

The Warmer Homes Scheme provides fully funded energy upgrades to homeowners who receive certain Department of Social Protection payments and live in a poorly insulated home (BER of C or lower). SEAI appoints and manages the contractor. Eligible works include attic and wall insulation, heat pump systems, ventilation, and BER assessment. Since January 2025 the scheme no longer covers oil or gas boiler replacements. Waiting times can be 24–26 months from application to completion of works.

Eligibility Requirements

Must receive a qualifying DSP payment (e.g. Fuel Allowance, Working Family Payment, One Parent Family Payment). Home must have a BER of C or lower.
