Full Details

The Non-Domestic Microgeneration Grant Scheme supports businesses, farms, community groups and other non-domestic properties to install solar PV. The grant is a fixed value per kWh of solar installed. From 6 October 2026, for a period of nine months, the grant rate is temporarily increased from around 23% of installation costs to 45% of eligible costs. SEAI estimates the average business installation could save approximately €12,000 a year.

The enhanced 45% window runs into July 2027. The Business Energy Upgrades Scheme also now offers 45% of eligible costs for heat pumps and solar thermal installations. These are rapid approval grants with no tranche deadlines. Farmers can alternatively apply for the TAMS 3 Solar Capital Investment Scheme (60%), which is competitive and runs in tranches. An Accelerated Capital Allowance may also apply to energy-efficient equipment.
